P&H Egan were a famous old whiskey bonder company based in Tullamore where their business was bottling wine and whiskey for the domestic market. The company has now been revived by the descendants of the original founders.
Egan's History
In 1852 Patrick Egan SR and his brother Henry established P&H Egan Ltd in Tullamore Co. Offaly. They quickly became one of Ireland's foremost merchant houses, spanning a range of commercial endeavours that included importing, malting, brewing, blending, and bottling as they perfected the art of bonding. The Art of Bonding involves marrying all elements of the whiskey-making process to create unique, compelling whiskeys that push the boundaries of excellence. Today the Egan legacy and time-honoured traditions are carried forward by Jonathan, Rupert and Maurice Egan, a family with whiskey in its blood.
You don’t have to be a whiskey connoisseur to enjoy our collection of four Egan’s Whiskey’s.
Egan’s Whiskey Flight Selection €45.00Includes a choice of a half pint of Guinness or Smithwick’s.
Bonders Blend: A superb high-malt marriage of four hand-selected whiskeys finished in a selection of casks including single grain matured ex-bourbon casks and newly charred oak barrels, and double distilled single malt finished in ex-Pineau des Charentes casks and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
Egan's Fortitude: Matured exclusively in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, the Egan's Fortitude is a single malt that has plentiful flavours of mixed fruits, almonds, and honey. It has been non-chill filtered and bottled at 46%.
Egan's Vintage Endeavour: For this release, Egan's have matured their single malt in a combination of four different cask types (virgin American oak, bourbon, sherry, and imperial stout barrels) to add layer after layer of complexity and flavour. On the palate, this whiskey offers notes of sweet toffee, chocolate and dried fruits sit with oak and walnuts with a peated undercurrent throughout.
Egan's 10-Year-Old Single Malt: Assertive and fruity to taste and surprisingly easy to drink at full strength. Medium bodied and powerful with pronounced fruit flavours of pineapple, ripe red apples, mango, banana becoming spicy and oaky towards the finish.
